Ellie Lees (National SSAGO)

Between the 28th and 30th August, Team Pink headed down to Cosford, just outside Wolverhampton — arguably the geographical centre of all Team Pink members — for what was set to be an eventful weekend.
We arrived on Friday afternoon at Patshull Scout Centre, which turned out to be quite literally in the middle of nowhere, hidden behind a very heavy iron gate, with a rather impressive hill presented to us as our camping spot.
It was at this point that our Charity Assistant famously uttered the words: “Ewan, you’ve booked a hill.” This was quickly followed by the even more devastating: “Ewan, your campsite booking privileges have been removed.”
And, as it turned out, the hill was only the beginning.
Early on Saturday morning, we woke to discover that Ewan’s shelter was, unsurprisingly, not going to withstand the very rainy weather that had descended upon us. With the rain continuing to fall, Team Pink quickly made a beeline for the indoors.
We spent the remainder of the morning, and part of the afternoon, doing some very important Team Pink business. This included discussing important matters, writing policies and, most importantly, coming up with the next stage of the SSAGO strategy.
Of course, no Team Pink weekend would be complete without some fun, so we eventually escaped our meeting room and headed into Wolverhampton for an afternoon at Hollywood Bowl.
It was here that we discovered a shocking piece of information: one member of Team Pink had never been bowling before. We had a brilliant time, with plenty of questionable technique, competitive spirit and, naturally, a lot of milkshakes ordered
We finished the evening with a trip to Wetherspoons, where we were met with some rather suspicious looks as an entire sea of pink hoodies descended upon the pub.
All in all, it was a very successful weekend for Team Pink, featuring important SSAGO discussions, questionable campsite bookings, a lot of rain, a first-ever bowling experience and enough pink to make sure we were never going to go unnoticed.
And, perhaps most importantly, Ewan’s campsite booking privileges remain under review.
